Street Manager EPG – How-To Guide 2026

February 2026 update

The Street Works UK Street Manager EPG is developing a ‘How-To’ Guide explaining Street Manager for Statutory undertakers.

Street Manager is a digital service for the creation, coordination and monitoring of road and street works. It is used by every local highway authority, utility company and their contractors in England to raise and approve the permits needed to carry out works, record progress with works, register reinstatements and inspections, and issue any fines.

The following documents have been published by the Street Manager EPG.  The documents tie together the Street Manager user interface, detailing how it works and the various related legislation and Street Manager business rules.  The documents give an overview view of what statutory undertakers need to do with Street Manager, how they are expected to do it, and how system functionality aligns with legal and operational requirements.

By bringing together system processes, statutory obligations and business rules in a single, structured format, the modules provide clarity and consistency.

Street Manager can be accessed here.

The Street Manager EPG will be releasing further documents over the coming months.
