The Department for Transport (DfT) has published its official response to the Government’s Red Tape Challenge consultation on the Deregulation of Street Works Qualifications.

Following concerns raised during the consultation process (which NJUG responded to), the government has decided not to proceed with proposals to remove the current requirement for street works operatives and supervisors to hold specific qualifications. Please find a summary of consultation submissions and the Government’s response here.

This is great news for NJUG and testament to lobbying efforts within the industry.
