Our Chief Executive Clive Bairsto has given his thoughts on the recent passage of the Transport Bill in Scotland:

“The Transport (Scotland) Bill was successfully passed by the Scottish Parliament earlier this month, and I believe this showcased the very best of collaborative working.

That’s not to say that we did not have disagreements with the Scottish Government.

However, during the passage of the Bill, our members had an open door to raise issues directly with the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity. This open and receptive approach allowed us to support the technical details that the Scottish Government intends to take forward by offering support and guidance as and where necessary.

As we head towards the implementation of the Act, I look forward to working with the Scottish Government and helping them put these proposals into practice in a timely manner that enables our members to prepare and adjust to the forthcoming changes.”
